Campaign against the arms trade
The Campaign Against Arms Trade is working for the reduction and ultimate abolition of the international arms trade. Site has news on current campaigns and activities, plus lots of very useful facts and figures about the arms trade.

An interesting site from people with a particular insight into the human cost of the war. Contains details of Reg Keys campaign to unseat Blair in Sedgefield.
A US site with a good range of news stories and resources
A site detailing the activities of companies profiting from the war in Iraq and US military spending generally. It has a company by company profile of the major players and although the site is US based the companies covered are, of course, multinationals
Activist Network: a bit like a radical google - lots of links to websites, with a search facility. Also has a calender of events - you can add your own - and a forum where activists can exchange information and network.

Justice Not Vengeance (JNV) is an anti-war group which opposes the US-UK 'war on terrorism', and campaigns for a peaceful resolution of international conflicts, based on justice and equality. Their web-site has regular anti-war briefings which are very informative - essential reading for any anti-war activist.
Act Together: Women's Action for Iraq is a group of UK-based Iraqi and non-Iraqi women. It was formed in 2000 to campaign against the economic sanctions on Iraq and, since late 2001, also campaigned against the US/UK invasion of Iraq, and the occupation. Supports independent grassroots women's initiatives in Iraq.
Women in Black is a world-wide network of women committed to peace with justice and actively opposed to injustice, war, militarism and other forms of violence. Their UK web-site has details of activities and resources.
Women's International League for Peace and Freedom
Women's International League for Peace and Freedom's website has 2 very comprehensive lists: a news list and a list of initiatives relating to women in Iraq.
Human Rights Watch is an independent, nongovernmental organization based in the US. They conduct fact-finding investigations into human rights abuses in all regions of the world. The site has lots of information on current events, plus their reports and links to articles.
Amnesty works to promote general awareness of human rights and oppose specific abuses of human rights. Their site has news, information on campaigns, teaching resources and their reports.
A site concentrating on the plight of the prisoners in Guantanamo.
Information on Kuwaitis being illegally held by the US. Has a regularly updated news section which links to stories dealing with human rights more generally.
Anti-war news, views and activities. Comprehensive and up to date links to articles about conflicts across the world.
Really useful and interesting US site for getting to grips with the true stories behind the news. Produced by 'a community of people committed to social change'. Range of articles on current issues, updated daily. Chomsky is a regular contributor, and has a blog on the site.
Great source of news that doesn't make it into your daily newspaper. This is a network of collectively run media outlets for the creation of radical, accurate, and passionate tellings of the truth.
'Girl Blog from Iraq... let's talk war, politics and occupation' is how it describes itself, and it offers really interesting insights into the view from Baghdad.
Dahr Jamail is sometimes published in papers like the Guardian, but he also writes practically daily updates on the situation in his blog.
